The specific procurement of electricity from Renewable Energies is a crucial instrument for companies in their Transformation towards ClimateNeutrality. In this context, Guarantees of Origin (GOs) for produced green Electricity are becoming increasingly important. These certificates fulfill essential functions at various interfaces within the integrated energy value chain. On one hand, they serve as a qualitative value component, contributing to the partial refinancing of renewable capacities, and on the other hand, they act as a key element in the EU-mandated Sustainability Reporting for companies. Additionally, granular Guarantees of Origin could further contribute to system efficiency.
At our panel we will discuss the perspectives on the regulatory and technical development of the Guarantee of Origin system for the Energy Transition and how the interconnections within the energy value chain can be strengthened and better utilized for the expansion of renewable energies.

Our Perspective at Energy Track & Trace
At Energy Track & Trace, we believe that Guarantees of Origin will play a central role in the future energy landscape. By incorporating regional and temporal limitations, we are further developing the concept of guarantees of origin towards granular certificates that better reflect the physics in the energy system and provide a real system benefit. These granular certificates provide transparency and traceability for renewable energy, enabling a more precise and efficient use of these resources.
We look forward to your participation and engaging discussions!
