Our goals

Digital proof that sustainable energy choices make a real difference.

Track and trace the origins of Energy

Energy Track and Trace (ETT) is an ambitious international cooperation, working together to create and further an international solution for tracking and tracing the origins of sustainable energy from source to consumer.

Harmonizing digital solutions

Energy Track & Trace aims to co-create and harmonize digital solutions that will allow all grid users to track the origin of renewable energy from source to consumption – across borders. We want to enable fully carbon-neutral processes and products and support the ambitious decarbonization efforts of consumers by providing a transparent and widely accepted system, tailored to the consumers needs.

Participating TSO’s

The Energy Track and Trace cooperation was started by Elia Group, Elering and Energinet with the ambition of developing a stronger European perspective on granular certification and insights for policy makers. The project is developed in compliance with EnergyTag guidelines.

50Hertz (Germany)

50Hertz is one of the four transmission system operators in Germany and part of the Elia Group. 50Hertz has been part of the Energy Track & Trace community since 2021. The register developed jointly within the Elia Group can already be used by pilot customers in Germany.

Elering (Estonia)

Elering is the transmission system operator for electricity and gas and also the issuing body for guarantees of origin in Estonia. Elering has been part of the Energy Track & Trace community since 2021. Elering is currently working on the development of its own registry for granular certificates.

Elia (Belgium)

Elia is the transmission system operator in Belgium and part of the Elia group. Elia has been part of the Energy Track & Trace community since 2021. The register developed jointly within the Elia Group can already be used in Belgium for pilot customers.

Energinet (Denmark)

Energinet is the transmission system operator for electricity and gas and also the issuing body for guarantees of origin in Denmark. Energinet has been part of the Energy Track & Trace community since 2021. Energinet’s register can now be used by the first pilot customers in Denmark.
